DICE.com Batch Posting Instructions

IMPORTANT NOTICE &endash; BATCH POSTING IS NOT FOR EVERYONE!

This job board uses a batch file format to import jobs at regular intervals. Batch files are not as reliable as posting your jobs directly to the job board using the web interface provided by the job board. We do not recommend batch posting unless you will realize SIGNIFICANT time savings due to the chance that jobs may not be transmitted properly. As a rule, if you use fewer than 10 rotating job slots (or 'parking spots') per month to this job board, you should not use a batch posting format. Manually post your jobs using the web interface provided by the job board and use the MANUAL JOB POSTING option in MaxHire to include a link to apply online via the candidate portal.

MaxHire will use its best efforts to monitor the successful transmission of batch files to this job board, but it is ultimately your responsibility to ensure that jobs sent via batch files are successfully added to this board. This job board does not provide any method for us to verify the successful posting of a job once it is sent in the batch file.

Requirements

  1. You must have a job pack with DICE that permits you to post a fixed number of jobs at any time (parking slot) rather than individual jobs.

  2. You must obtain a batch posting user name and password from your DICE account manager by following the instructions below.

Posting Method: Total Replace Batch

This job board uses a total replace batch process. Every time a batch file is sent, ALL jobs on the board are deleted and then replaced with the contents of the batch. It is important that you have selected all jobs for posting to this board while the posting mechanism is in TEST mode until you are ready to transmit a full batch of jobs. (TEST mode will allow you to select jobs for posting without actually posting the jobs to the job board.) You will need to coordinate with our support department to change the batch from TEST to LIVE mode when you are ready to send an entire batch from MaxHire.

Frequency: Once Per Day

Jobs are transmitted once per day at 8pm PST and the job board will process the jobs the same night.

Obtaining a Batch Posting ID

You must contact DICE support to request a batch posting username and password. Please CC MaxHire support in this email so that we know that you are in the process of setting up batch posting with this board. You should also CC your DICE account manager so that they know you are using batch posting. Use the following email template when contacting DICE:

To:

support@dice.com

CC:

support@maxhire.net , (your account manager)@dice.com

Subject:

Request for Batch Posting Setup for DICE.COM

Body:

Dear DICE Support,

We would like to request a Dice account for batch posting. However, for now, we will continue to post our jobs manually, and will contact you when we wish batch posting to be enabled. Our applicant tracking system vendor, MaxHire.net, supports batch posting to DICE.COM and is familiar with the setup and testing needed to implement batch posting with DICE.COM. I authorize the MaxHire support department to communicate with you on our behalf to set up and test batch posting.

Please send the following information and CC MaxHire Support (support@maxhire.net).

DICE ID:

Batch Posting Username:

Batch Posting Password:

Number of job slots:

Approximate number of jobs we are posting per month:

(MaxHire needs to know how many jobs we can post so that they can configure this in their software.)

Once we have set up the batch posting with MaxHire and selected our jobs for posting, MaxHire support will send a batch file for testing and approval before we send a live batch.

Please feel free to contact MaxHire support if you have any questions.

Selecting Jobs and Testing

Once we have received the batch posting information from the job board, our support department will activate the job board in MaxHire. We will send you an email when this is done. The job posting will be in TEST MODE until you have selected all jobs in MaxHire that you want to post to this job board. When you have selected all the jobs, you will need to notify MaxHire support so that we can send a test batch to DICE for approval. Once they approve the batch, we will switch the posting to LIVE MODE and the batch will be transmitted to DICE.

PLEASE ALLOW UP TO 5 BUSINESS DAYS TO ACTIVATE THE JOB BOARD AFTER WE RECEIVE THE BATCH POSTING INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE JOB BOARD.

Batch Verification

Every time a live batch is sent, the job board will send a confirmation email daily with the status of the batch to the person you specify when activating the batch posting with MaxHire support.  You will also receive an automated email confirmation from MaxHire with the status of each batch sent including any additions, deletions, and a list of active jobs.

It is very important that you verify that you jobs are successfully processed by the job board and that the jobs actually appear on the board after the batch is transmitted. You can see which jobs are posted to the job board by doing an advanced job search or by running the available reports in the Job Posting menu under the main Reports menu in MaxHire. We recommend running a spot-check on a daily basis when you receive the verification email to ensure the jobs exist on the job board. If you discover a problem with the batch, please contact MaxHire support via support ticket as soon as possible. Do not contact the job board for technical support. We will do that on your behalf if needed.
