Designing a Career Portal that Works
Co-hosted by Achim Klor of Sterling Klor Communications
Putting a link to “Current Opportunities” on your website is enough to attract quality candidates, right? Not even close. Designing an effective career portal requires following basic marketing guidelines like creating content that is tailored to your audience and having strong “calls to action” that lead your candidates into your structured sales funnel. To get quality candidates to apply, you have to first sell your company and convince them that taking the time to apply on your website will yield results. Achim Klor, online marketing specialist and president of Sterling Klor communications, will present examples of candidate portals that work using proven online marketing techniques.

Technology as an Accelerator of Process
Co-hosted by Adam Houghton, Vice President of MaxHire

Getting the Right Fit using Behavioral Assessments
Co-hosted by Fraser Engel of Mindworks Consulting
Organizational Performance Profiles (OPP) are a proven assessment system that helps you make consistently accurate and rational decisions about hiring. It maps 7 key behavioral traits found in the ideal candidate to the traits found in an applicant: assertiveness, sociability, pace, detail, behavioral adaptability, emotiveness, and creativity. Based on the match between the ideal candidate and the applicant, you will be able to predict the success of any applicant with shocking accuracy.
This may sound like social science mumbo jumbo, but we’ve used behavioral assessments for the past 2 years for our own hiring at MaxHire and the results have been astounding. Not only did we use it to screen applicants, we used the results to help understand what challenges our new hires would face and to adjust the job accordingly, even before they started working.
We advocate using behavioral assessments to hire key employees at a bare minimum (recruiters and account managers), but there are obvious applications when screening applicants for your clients as well. Learn how science meets hiring in this informative webinar Co-hosted by an industry expert, Fraser Engel, President of Mindworks Consulting.

Writing Contracts that are Deal Makers (not Breakers)
Co-hosted by Eric Kaufmanis, Business Lawyer
Legal stuff can be scary so most business owners leave contract writing up to lawyers, but contracts should be as important to your marketing message as your website. You probably don’t think of a contract as another marketing brochure, but that’s what it should be if you want to make deals. Good contracts clearly restate the product and the value proposition to give your buyers confidence. Of course, a contract needs to include proper legal provisions, but these do not need to obscure the marketing message. Erik Kaufmanis will present examples of effective direct placement and contract agreements that help make deals, not break them.
